Membership fees alone do not cover the costs of the programmes and services run by the Big Rideau Lake Association. Please consider making a financial donation to support these activities: after choosing BRLA Donation, you will be able to specify which particular areas you would like to target your support.
After the tragic and untimely death of Doug Good in March 2017, we were approached by numerous people within the Rideau Lakes community who wished to make donations in his honour, out of respect for his commitment to this lake and our association. After consulting with his family, we have created the Doug Good Shoal Marker Fund; funds raised will support the shoal markers the BRLA maintains throughout the lake, a programme Doug passionately supported.
As well, because of their special connection with Big Rideau Lake and the BRLA, the families of several long-time lake residents have specified our association as the recipient of In Memoriam Donations for their loved ones. We are very grateful for this support. If you would like to make a donation in memory of someone who has passed away, please note the name of the person you are honouring when completing the donation form.
If you would like to receive a tax receipt for your donation, please make your donation to the RLEF below.
Rideau Lakes Environmental Foundation (RLEF)
Because the BRLA is not a registered charity, neither membership fees nor programme donations qualify as charitable donations for income tax purposes. The RLEF is the fundraising arm of the BRLA, and is a registered charity. If you would like to support these important efforts in promoting the environmental health and safety of the Rideau Lakes, and receive a tax receipt for your contribution, please donate now.
If you would like to make a donation to either the BRLA or the RLEF but would prefer to do so by cheque, please mail to: P.O. Box 93, Portland, ON, K0G 1V0.
