Family-friendly racing with your kids, new and expert sailors, keelboats, and dinghies - all sail-powered boats are welcome to participate in the August 17th BRLA Sailboat Races Mini-Regatta to be held at Cow Island.


Two fleets with different starts:

1. Small sailboats / dinghies

2. Sharks, keel boats and other large sail boats 

Fleet No. 1: Small sailboat / dinghies

1:00 pm Registration at Cow Island

1:30 pm Skippers meeting for dinghy sailors only

(2:00 pm Shark and keel boat start)

2:15 pm Start for small sail boats / dinghies

Race until 4:30 pm one or more races depending on the wind - nature's choice.

5:00 Prizes on Cow Island

5:30 Barbeque

Fleet No. 2: Sharks, keel boats and other large boats 

Due to limited dock space, we are asking large boats to NOT come ashore. Arrive at Cow Island ready to race. After the event, anchor away from the docks at Cow or make another arrangement such as borrowing a cottage dock, sailing home and returning by power boat, whatever works. Sailors can be picked up by someone on shore.

Pre-register by emailing Ann White at Include helm and crew names, boat type, number and level of experience (beginner, intermediate, advanced). 

A skippers meeting will be held by conference call at 7 pm on the evening before the race on August 16. Conference call instructions will be sent by email to everyone who has pre-registered, along with race instructions, sailing courses and waiver.

Please let us know if you are going to race and can pre-register, would like to race but can't make it, or might race depending on circumstance, or you are coming to watch and enjoy the BBQ.

This is a kick-off event to see who wants to race! Let's introduce this amazing and sustainable sport to a new generation. We can run serious and fun races in the future. Many experienced and some international caliber sailors on the lake.  Let's get it going!!
